Hotel Barrière Fouquet's is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager who will assist the Human Resources Director to support the advancement of our mission and strategic plans. The HR Manager is responsible for staffing qualified personnel; ensuring employment statute compliance; overseeing all aspects of wage, benefit, worker's compensation, unemployment; training program direction, implementation and administration. You would be responsible for the direction and administration of the Human Resources function in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service to the employees and guests.
The candidate would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Assist and support management staff with effective recruiting and interviewing techniques to ensure the hiring and retention of qualified associates.
- Ensure that the application, screening, interview, and hiring process for all candidates is carried out in accordance with hotel policy and procedures.
- Assist in overseeing, administering and communicating pertinent information regarding all Human Resources functions to include, but not limited to training and development, wage/benefit administration, compliance with statutory requirements, team member relations, labor relations and contract compliance, performance evaluations, workers compensation and safety, employment processes and general leadership guidance and support.
- Ensure in assisting of processing weekly payroll by reviewing weekly schedules into ADP, confirming department time edits and pay code updates
- Assist with the coordination of benefits with the hotel's benefit administrator for new hires, current & terminated associates. Assist associates with requests for FMLA & personal LOA paperwork and coordinates the collection of insurance premium payments.
- Assist team members in all facets of benefit administration
- Ensure that employees are developed and utilized to their maximum potential by controlling the implementation, administration and monitoring of all training programs
- Maintain all hotel personnel records and Human Resources files ensuring confidentiality where necessary
- Plan, coordinate and execute employee activities and events, including holiday party and staff appreciation party
- Provide guidance to the leadership team regarding employee morale, employee relations, coaching, and counselling and discipline
- Maintain a positive relationship with staff representatives and ensure any employee grievances are monitored and resolve
- Attend all hotel required meetings and training
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned
The ideal candidate would have:
- Previous hotel experience preferred.
- At least 4 - 5 years of progressive Human Resources Manager experience in a hotel or a related industry required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with Workforce Now ADP and/or other HRIS software preferred.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when dealing with guest/employee information and sensitive matters
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
- Familiarity with and knowledge of employment/labor laws required.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
