Zion-Benton Township High School is a comprehensive school located in the city of Zion. New Tech High @ Zion-Benton East is a New Tech Network replication school located in the heart of Zion, providing a small school project-based learning environment, rich in relationships and technology.

The Human ResourcesManager will join the next phase of the Human Resources team which is dedicated to investing in our employees, engaging in inclusive practices, and inspiring our Z-B family. The Human Resources Manager reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources and Communications and is a key part of the Human Resources team while supervising the management of the Human Resources affairs of ZBTHS D126 in such a way as to provide the best possible services to all stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The role of the Human Resources Manager is integral to the support of school faculty, administration and staff
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Human Resources and Communications, the Human Resources Manager will support and drive organization-wide efforts to deliver a quality Human Resources experience
Primary responsibilities include benefit administration, payroll, support for the recruiting and hiring process, regulatory compliance and reporting, and employee relations
Works in collaboration with the Payroll Specialist, Benefits Specialist, and Personnel Specialist
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws such as FMLA, ADA, Sexual Harassment, etc
Responsible for day-to-day Human Resources operations, with support from HR team members, and with direct management from the Executive Director of Human Resources and Communications
Serves as a trusted resource who is available to employees to answer questions about Human Resources
Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions
Assist in ensuring compliance with labor laws and collective bargaining agreements
Monitor mandatory trainings; notify administrators as needed of non-compliant employee issues
Manages leave administration to ensure process and information is consistent, thoughtful, and streamlined
Support the recruiting lifecycle, including coordinating position advertisements, providing support for the Hiring Manager as requested, and preparing new hire information packets
Create and manage processes for the life-cycle of an employee (onboarding/new-employee orientations; monitor career-path program, exit interviews, etc.)
Serve as trusted partner and resource to supervisors
Create a strong customer service dynamic throughout all operations
Manage personnel policies and procedures; preparation and maintenance of employee handbook and policy documents
Manage creation and maintenance of job descriptions
Support other projects, initiatives or processes as necessary
Provides knowledge and leadership in the hiring of all district positions to ensure a fair process for all applicants and the highest possibility of hiring the best available candidates
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Human Resources and Communications

- Skilled in utilizing technology including: word processing, spreadsheets, database management, Google docs and spreadsheets, the Internet, and email communication.
Possesses a strong mathematical aptitude.
A working knowledge of HR processes and regulations is essential; experience with FMLA, PTO accrual, Worker's Compensation and 403b programs desired.
Ability to communicate with faculty, staff, students, parents, and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
Competence in performing a high degree of detailed work with accuracy.
Able to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment.
Able to take initiative, multi-task, and work with minimal supervision.
Able to work in a team setting with positive results.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, or related field of study required. Three (3) years of experience in an HR role is preferred. Experience in a public school or social service environment is preferred.
