Description:

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for leading the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all HR functions at the local facility. The HRM will work closely with senior leadership and partnering HR staff as well as all levels of operations to implement organizational goals. The Human Resources Manager reports directly to the VP of HR. This position is located onsite in Mifflintown, PA.

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Proactively drives employee engagement initiatives and serves as a resource to the entire team.
  • Coaches and supports employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Coaches, facilitates and follows up with team building and performance improvement initiatives within departments.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • With VP of HR works to handle complex legal and employment related matters
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in Human Resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Behaves as a model of personal excellence by displaying and promoting the CARE values of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate easily with all employees.
  • Act as a change agent to drive change where needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification or equivalent work experience required.
