The role of Human Resources (HR) Manager is a vital component to our office and that will provide support and accountability to our staff.
The HR Manager is responsible for leading and directing all employee-related activities in our four offices in Cleveland, Columbus, Tampa, and Pittsburgh as well as our other remote employees. Responsibilities will include overseeing hiring, interviewing, salary review, employee relations, employee recruitment, onboarding, retention, termination, benefits and leave, performance reviews, performance improvement and corrective action, and policy enforcement.
Duties and Responsibilities:(Included but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.)
- Oversees interviews and hiring of qualified applicants for open positions.
- Participates in recruiting cohort efforts.
- Leads onboarding efforts including orientation, review of benefits, employee documentation set up, 90-day probationary reviews.
- Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Formulates corrective measures related to disciplinary issues.
- Schedules and runs exit interviews.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable labor laws and HR best practices.
- Oversees the support program for visa compliance and monitoring for non-US citizens.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable labor laws and HR best practices.
- Monitors compensation structure and benefits comparing to industry norms.
- Monitors employee performance of title related duties.
- Monitors firm performance and productivity.
- Organizes anti-harassment training and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and policies.
- Facilitates recognition and professional growth programs.
- Monitors morale.
- Organizes internal mentorship programs, the Architectural Experience Program (AXP), continuing education programs, summer internship, and co-op internship programs.
- Provides quarterly reports to principals.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks
- Advanced knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in leading others through conflict
- Ability to promote negotiation skills with staff
- Problem solving skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Bluebeam
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
- 3-5 years of Human Resources experience
Software Proficiency:
- Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
