Overview

The Human Resources Compliance Specialist will serve as an expert on all compliance issues related to the Human Resources function; primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with external regulations with respect to improving and enhancing labor and employment law related policies, practices, and processes company wide.

 

Responsibilities

  • Process all onboarding procedures and input all new hires in HRIS.
  • Primary record keeper of all Learning.
  • Work with Management to develop live and in-person training.
  • Ensure all the necessary documents are completed for the following processes- Interviews, pre-Employment, new hires orientation, Benefit enrollment, Promotions, Transfers, annual Performance appraisals, and Terminations.
  • Assure accuracy, organization, security and confidentiality of all HR files and correspondence.
  • Process compensation, transfers, and promotions in HRIS.
  • Assist in New Hire orientation and ongoing employee trainings.
  • Create and maintain personnel files.
  • Upkeep employee profiles in HRIS.
  • Process I-9 verifications and track expired documents.
  • Conduct annual I-9 audits.
  • Follow up on all out of state driver’s license and ensure an updated driver’s license is obtained.
  • Assure primary source verification (PSV) for credentials are received on all applicable positions  requiring credentials and placed in personnel files upon onboarding.  Update and conduct PSV prior to expiration date. 
  • Ensure your assigned departments are reviewing all job descriptions annually for accuracy, relevance, and compliance with standards and policies and procedures.
  • Keep required current Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Compile and prepare annual EEO/Vets reporting.
  • On -going IEE tracking and management.
  • Track open and pending FMLA cases.
  • File workers compensation claims, ensure all documents are received in a timely manner. Follow up with employees on return to work and work status.

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES.  Other job-related duties as assigned.

 Qualifications

Education.  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or Human Resources related field.   

Experience.  HRIS preferably ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS experience preferred. Experience working HR Compliance to include, Affirmative Action Programs, EEO/Vets Compliance, OSHA, FMLA, and worker’s compensation preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

Education/Experience substitution.  Equivalent combination of education in Human Resources, of two (2) or more years. 

 Licenses/Certifications.  Must hold Valid driver’s license. SHRM-CP preferred.

Other (e.g., post-offer drug screen, background check, driver’s license record, etc.).  Employee’s must undergo a driver’s license record check; employees must pass a government background check. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:  

  • Bilingual skills are not required but are beneficial.
  • Exceptional event planning and execution skills: Engaging, addressing, and speaking to large and diverse ranges of candidates, managers, and staff through conversation or presentation.
  • Experience and confidence with data entry, tracking, and interpretation through excel or other similar programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and critical thinking, including interviewing skills, personal communication skills, organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to influence others.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal management and oversight, multi-task, and ability to manage several projects simultaneously to meet specific objectives under time constraints. Must have a sense of urgency and be a proactive self-starter who navigates work effectively to produce high quality results and is a team player.
  • Excellent customer service skills required to build and maintain relationships to work well with all levels of management and teams. Promote an inclusive environment by seeking ways to integrate differences.
  • Ability to analyze and apply judgment in resolving complex problems.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information regarding clients and employees of Tresco.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Rate of Pay:   SP-2

Hours:  Monday-Thursday 7:30a-5:30p Friday 8a-12p
