Job Summary:

Are you an organized professional with attention to detail who enjoys working on a team committed to a high-level of customer service? If so, the DCS Recruitment unit wants you to join their team!
The Recruitment Assistant will be primarily responsible for conducting employment background verifications and providing administrative support to the HR Recruitment Unit.

Job Duties:
  • Conducts employment reference checks and personnel file reviews
  • Participates in Arizona Management System (AMS) by tracking metrics, creating charts and maintaining standard operating procedures
  • Attends and participates in Recruitment Unit meetings
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • General HR practices and procedures
  • Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Personnel Rules, policies and procedures
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Phone etiquette
  • Maintaining and updating electronic files
  • Time management and organization

Skill in:

  • Maintaining Confidentiality
  • Verbal and written communication
  • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
  • Logging and tracking activities
  • Working with others to accomplish common goals and tasks

Ability to:

  • Adhere to Department of Child Safety policies and procedures
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Apply LEAN and change management methodologies to daily tasks
  • Learn and work with HR Systems such as PageUp and Human Resources Information Solution (HRIS)
Selective Preference(s):

At least one (1) year experience working in a HR environment

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
Must be able to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements.
