As the HR & Accounting Generalist, you'll play a vital role in the success of our Tahoe division by managing HR inquiries and needs, including Recruiting, Onboarding, Employee Recognition, Training, Worker's Compensation, Employee Committees, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. You'll also support the Accounting team by assisting with payroll and AP needs. Additionally, you will provide administrative support to our VP of Operations.
Essential Duties
HR Administration:
- Be knowledgeable on all Tahoe positions and assist applicants with job information via phone, email, and in-person, including online and paper applications.
- Collaborate with department managers to update or create job descriptions, and post and advertise positions.
- Efficiently onboard new hires, ensuring timely data entry, completion of paperwork, E-Verify, and background checks, and provide relevant information on benefits.
- Manage separation process and respond to unemployment claims.
- Manage programs and tracking for Wellness Incentives, Anniversaries, Birthdays, etc. Prepare reporting for necessary entities.
- Ensure compliance with current laws and regulations and assist in regular Human Resources internal and external audits (Employment Law Posters, conducts I-9 & E-verify audits, etc).
- Process workers' compensation claims and assist with return-to-work programs, as well as OSHA reporting and state leave programs.
- Manage CA specific training requirements and assignments and support overall learning culture and opportunities.
Accounting:
- Prepare and upload bi-weekly payroll.
- Assist with accounts payable and invoicing.
- Manage office supply inventory and ordering.
- Handle mail processing and distribution.
Administrative Support to VP of Operations for Tahoe:
- Prepare weekly occupancy reports.
- Analyze guest surveys and report findings.
- Provide support on projects.
Committee Participation:
- Coordinate the Adopt-A-Highway Program.
- Organize employee appreciation events and monthly birthday/anniversary celebrations.
- Develop community outreach initiatives to engage employees and promote EWH in the community.
Location: Truckee, CA
Start Date: ASAP
Employment Status: Full Time, Year Round
Pay Rate: $25-$28/hour
Schedule: Typically Monday - Friday
A successful candidate will meet or exceed these requirements:
- 1-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in HR or related functions.
- General HR experience in hospitality or similar industry preferred.
- Fluency in English required; Spanish proficiency preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS/payroll software.
