Hugo’s, Drake neighborhoods new Wood Fired Oven and Mediterranean Restaurant is hiring for skilled service staff who want to do more within the hospitality/service industry. We want people who truly enjoy taking care of guests, want to learn all they can about food and beverage and have the right character to be teachable, positive and willing. We are a small company with long roots in the Des Moines area and will hold hospitality in front of all.
Position Summary - To take care of all guests and colleagues alike in a fun and busy neighborhood eatery within the Drake area. You will perform daily service duties, remain current and knowledgeable on all menu items and beverages. Always communicate with your team members and management with the ongoings within the restaurant to keep the ease and flow of service moving along.
Requirements include but are not limited to
- Keep a positive attitude and always maintain a neat and professional appearance
- Always have a hospitality first attitude
- Keep current on all food and beverage products
- Treat all staff, vendors and guests with respect at all times
- Set up dining room and keep running side work caught up during service
- Assist the bar and host with tasks when needed
- Promote teamwork and camaraderie within the restaurant
- Ensure guests receive all beverages and food within a timely manner
- Perform other job duties when assigned by a Manager or Chef
- Perform weekly and monthly duties when assigned
- Closing down dining room in a timely, efficient and tidy manner
- Setting up your colleagues for success
- The potential for cross training is ideal but not required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
- Minimum 1 years in the Hospitality industry required
- Excellent multi tasking and time management skills
- Sense of urgency and purpose
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, lunch, dinner and weekends
- A desire to learn and grow, both professionally and personally
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
