The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively leading HSS initiatives, onboarding orientation of new employees, HSS campaigns, supporting emergency response management, and actively supporting pandemic management requirements and Safety Committees in Houston and San Diego.

Primary Purpose
The HSS Advisor reports to the Dir - HSSE SI US. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively leading HSS initiatives, onboarding orientation of new employees, HSS campaigns, supporting emergency response management, and actively supporting pandemic management requirements and Safety Committees in Houston and San Diego.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administers and coordinates health, safety, and security ("HSS") initiatives in the Houston and San Diego offices.
- Responsible for training the Houston and San Diego office workforce, contractors visitors on HSS regulatory and internal requirements, including new hire/visitor orientations and office safety protocols.
- Conducts periodic office safety assessments to identify and mitigate unsafe acts or conditions in the Houston and San Diego workplaces.
- Actively supports the SI US emergency response program by overseeing the Crisis Command Centers in Houston and San Diego, maintaining the Emergency Operations Manuals in each location.
- Reports near misses, security, and site injuries/illnesses to the SI US HSSE Director; actively supports incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Supports the annual emergency response drills/exercises across the Gulf Coast assets and projects.
- Coordinates annual CPR/First Aid/AED training at Houston and San Diego workplaces.
- Maintains the SI High Rise Tenant Fire Safety Manual and trained employee certifications from the Houston Fire Department; manages the SI Fire Warden team.
- Actively supports the annual workspace evacuation drills in Houston (Woodside) and San Diego (Sempra Corporate) by communicating drill specifics to the affected workforce.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
- Manages the Safety Committees in Houston and San Diego
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in arelevant discipline
- 5+ years of experience in applicable Health, Safety, and Security.
- Availability to travel as needed
- Possess the ability to utilize various software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, MAX, SharePoint, etc. Advanced
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Advanced
- Possess the ability to provide administrative support to various levels of management. Advanced
- Strong analytical thinking, using concise information while working through problems and implementing solutions. Advanced
- Possesses effective planning and organizational skills, meets work deadlines, and delivers results. Advanced
- Possess the ability to complete time sensitive assignments accurately. Advanced
- Must be very organized and able to operate in a high paced multi-tasking environment. Advanced
- Adept at implementing best practices of Health, Safety, and Security. Intermediate
- Ability to present information, results, and findings to technical and management-level type personnel. Intermediate
