GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Retirement Center is seeking applicants for the position of Transportation/Restorative CNA. The individual in this position assists in developing, directing and maintaining the facility's restorative and functional maintenance programs (RNP/FMP) for the residents within the scope of a CNA. This position also assists with scheduling residents' provider appointments and transportation to provider appointments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level.
- Identify restorative needs in collaboration with the Nursing department upon resident admission and during ongoing care conference reviews.
- Provide functional enhancement modalities for ADLS (grooming/hygiene, dressing, toileting, mobility, feeding/assisting, etc.).
- Ensure that the residents' programs are being completed and appropriately documented.
- Schedule residents' out of facility appointments and provide transportation of residents for appointments.
- Clean work area and restock supplies as needed.
- Communicates with the maintenance department of any repairs or replacements needed on the rehab equipment.
- Assist with resident care as a CNA in the event of a staffing emergency as directed by DON.
PREFERENCES/**AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in a long term care facility is preferred.
**Agency requires a current CNA license.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of the aging process, medical problems and diseases, behavioral issues.
- Skills in awareness to react and make decisions in high stress situations and multiple stimuli.
- Skills in good oral and written communication.
- Knowledge of and use of good body mechanics and proper lifting techniques.
- Knowledge in basic restorative nursing principles and practices. .
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Associate's Degree (typically in Healthcare)
Experience:
No prior experience required
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CNA Certification obtained within twelve (12) months of hire
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Human Services)
OR
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CNA Certification obtained within twelve (12) months of hire
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Lift/transfer persons to different positions.
- Lift persons and/or medical equipment of varying sizes and weights up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Work holidays, evenings, nights and/or weekends as scheduled.
NOTES:
- FLSA: Non-exempt
- For the health and protection of the persons we care for, an annual influenza vaccination is required, as well as annual testing for tuberculosis.
- A background information check, including taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
- Pre-employment drug testing will be conducted on safety sensitive positions (direct patient care positions are considered safety sensitive). Drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on any positions if reasonable suspicion exists.
