About the Role
As our Health Safety & Environmental Engineer for field services based in Tempe, AZ, you will be supporting the North American Watlow Field Services team, traveling 50-75% of the time. You will play a front and center role as a champion for health, safety & environmental (HS&E) initiatives around the country. You will take ownership of programs, policies and procedures that directly impact the health and safety of team members at several facilities and in promoting best practices for environmental management. Our Field Services Team currently has just over 130 team members and is growing. This is a broad, highly visible role that reports directly to our corporate Senior Manager of Health, Safety and Environmental (USA). We'll look to you to not only sustain a safe and healthy work environment and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, but to also coach and educate our team members on the importance of our HS&E initiatives and goals.
The ideal candidate for this role will be an individual who is skilled at and enjoys being autonomous, being fearless in promoting HS&E and using his/her mastery to educate. Key to your success will be your ability to influence people in a cross-functional environment, listen to input, build consensus, and help team members at all levels of the organization understand how HS&E programs support their interests and objectives.

Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical or Industrial Engineering. ALTERNATELY a related discipline may be considered based on demonstrated experience and proven relevant results.
- Proven leadership skills/leadership training
- Excellent verbal and written communications across all levels of the organization
- Proven effective problem-solving abilities
- Willing to travel 50 - 75% (primarily domestic travel)
Additional success factors
- 1-year experience in a similar role or 3-5 years working with, implementing, and/or training HS&E policies
- 3-5 years Construction and manufacturing experience
- Experience/application of principles of lean management/production
- Demonstrated effectives and willingness to collaborate and advocate for team-based solutions
