Title
HRIS (Workday) Functional Lead - Hybrid
The HRIS Functional Lead is a pivotal role leading a dynamic team of Workday HRIS professionals This role is at the intersection of HR functions, IT resources, and various business segments, ensuring seamless integration and effective functionality of Workday modules alongside other interfaced HR systems. As a subject matter expert in Workday and HR data analytics, this role demands a proactive approach in liaising with multiple stakeholders, managing external vendor relationships, and steering the HRIS team towards best practices and continuous improvement in system operations and user support. This role along with the rest of the HRIS team report directly to the Director of HR & Learning Technologies, Data Analytics.
This is a hybrid role that allows for flexibility to work primarily remote but does require the ability to be onsite as needed determined by the Director or project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Support:

  • Lead and support a team of Workday professionals on functional task and projects, ensuring optimum support for all HR modules in Workday.
  • Provides Functional Leadership and project guidance to the HRIS team.

Workday & HR System Management:
  • Maintain a robust understanding of Workday touchpoints and integrations across all modules, and other HR systems interfacing with Workday.
  • Manage the semi-annual Workday feature releases, coordinating with business leads to opt-in for pertinent module features, and explaining the rationale for selections.

Stakeholder & Vendor Relationship Management:
  • Manage relationships with IT technical resources supporting Workday and other HR systems, ensuring smooth operations and timely issue resolution.
  • Engage with external consulting vendors as needed, ensuring quality service delivery and alignment with organizational goals.

Problem Solving & Support:
  • Act as a liaison between the HRIS team, HR staff, and other stakeholders, providing guidance on solving Workday issues and troubleshooting daily challenges.
  • Direct end-user functional support through the HRIS team, including troubleshooting and issue remediation, while also contributing hands-on support as needed.

Project & Governance Management:
  • Oversee HRIS Workday Governance, maintaining a dashboards, ongoing projects, and other priorities as set by the HR Leadership.
  • Define and manage project timelines, resources, and costs for Workday HRIS projects and business requests, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Quality Assurance & Training:
  • Conduct testing in partnership with HR teams and IT for new functionality and upgrades, ensuring system integrity and user readiness.
  • Lead Workday training and certification initiatives for the HRIS team and other HR staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and system mastery.

Reporting & Analysis:
  • Oversee HR standard and ad-hoc reporting and dashboards, ensuring accurate and insightful data analytics to support decision-making.

Ad-hoc Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily work as required and undertake other duties as assigned or delegated by your Director, adapting to evolving organizational needs.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (computer science, management, human resources, data science, etc.) or an associate degree and equivalent job experience required.
  • 5-6 years of functional experience with Workday and/or other HCM systems required.
  • Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Workday modules certification in HCM, Benefits, and Reporting preferred.
  • Ability to navigate competing priorities, stakeholders, and projects successfully.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in HR data analytics.
  • Ability to manage projects and lead system implementations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
