This position is based in Plano, TX, or Georgetown, KY (PEMC) with a hybrid mix of some in-office time and some remote work.
Who we're looking for
The primary responsibility of this role is to work with the Toyota Suppliers, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and HR leaders to develop and implement Positive Team Member Relations and improvement strategies thereby improving overall manufacturing conditions.
Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources Manufacturing Business Advisors, this role will support the department's objectives to establish effective relationships with targeted suppliers to enhance the performance of both the supplier and overall Toyota operational condition.
This position will also proactively identify and implement improvements and solutions for obstacles that need to be addressed with the business units they support.
What you'll be doing
  • Develop strategies and project plans with stakeholders and customers to improve the condition of the 1,200 TMNA Parts Suppliers. Drive implementation for effective HR practices, strategic PTMR and HR initiatives for Executives and Team Members throughout the supplier network.
  • Partner with TMNA and supplier leaders, managers, and team members to resolve team member relations concerns and increase team member engagement and operational capability in the supply base.
  • Develop and lead Toyota training, assessments, and improvement activities for key suppliers.
  • Lead and direct consulting partners to develop specific supplier training with suppliers.
  • Work with Purchasing to develop an ongoing strategy for suppliers and NAMCs to implement HR programs including, t/m sensing, team member recognition, communication, and other PTMR programs.
  • Understand and incorporate future business and industry trends and develop HR strategy to achieve future business objectives to talent, workforce, and leadership. Lead and develop a team of utilizing the Toyota Way as a foundation.
  • Ensure strong Toyota Way and high-performance culture through supervisory capability improvement and focus.

What you bring
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, Business, or related field.
  • Solid HR background, preferably in more than one discipline with emphasis in positive team member relations.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of Toyota manufacturing and HR functions
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate multiple frequently changing activities and sometimes to compete for priorities.
  • Desire to work on an energetic, collaborative team and have fun!
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time.

Added bonus if you have
  • HR Professional Certification (SHRM or HRCI).
  • HR experience with Manufacturing
  • Creative problem-solving and project management.
