- What you'll be doing:
- Acting as a consultant and trusted advisor to assigned City departments in all aspects of human resources management.
- Working in partnership with other divisions in Human Resources and various teams across the City to provide support to departments.
- Serving as employee relations subject matter expert: interpreting policies, ensuring compliance with application of policies and employment regulations, and conducting effective investigations of employee complaints as necessary.
- Providing coaching and guidance to leaders regarding performance management, disciplinary matters and conflicts in the workplace.
- Consulting assigned departments through organizational structure review and changes.
- Supporting departments in the recruitment process: generating job postings, screening applications, developing the selection process and assisting with onboarding.
- Identifying and supporting process improvement in operations.
- Supporting organizational priorities and City-wide initiatives.
- Collaborating with City partners, including the Office of Equity and Inclusion, CAPE, and ITS.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Acting as a consultant and trusted advisor to assigned City departments in all aspects of human resources management.
- Hybrid work environment and flexible work schedule available.
- Compensatory time accrued weekly after 37.5 hours.

- What you Bring:
- Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting policies, applying employment laws, conducting investigations, facilitating conflict management and consulting leaders in strategic decision making processes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct objective and unbiased investigations.
- Experience in creating job postings and designing and implementing selection processes.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
