Responsible for coordinating the pre-boarding and onboarding experience for our academic, non-academic, students on stipends, temporary employees and volunteers assuring a service-oriented approach.
Job Responsibilities
- Contacts new employees to welcome them to Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) and directs them to the Onboarding Center, Workforce Health & Safety, and ID badge unit.
- Coordinates candidate pre-boarding and onboarding experience, assuring timely scheduling and completion of new hire appointments and paperwork including Form I-9 verifications prior to their start date. Provides for a positive onboarding experience to WCM.
- Ensures the expedient completion post offer background checks, medical clearances, resolves any issues and documents as appropriate. Responsible for all Form I-9 re-verifications for EAD (Employment Authorization Document) holders.
- Schedules medical screenings and new employee orientation. Ensures they are completed timely and accurately.
- Ensures all necessary information and paperwork is documented and stored appropriately and accurately in the HRIS and Recruiting & Onboarding management systems; maintains confidential Human Resource records and information.
- Triages and answers inquiries. Elevates as necessary, ensuring issue closure. Communicates with the departments the status of all employees prior to their start date.
- Manages the post hire onboarding experience assuring that new hires have the systems access, are aware of organizational benefits and have completed their new hire checklist.
- Collaborates with WCM departments to organize and onboard students on stipends and paid internship program participants.
- Provide additional administrative support to the department including coverage for Immigration and Non-Employee management.
- Ensures compliance with institutional and governmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- High School Diploma
Experience
Approximately 2 or more years of demonstrated successful administrative support experience in a customer facing role within a busy office environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications.
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to interact with multiple constituencies and exercise "people skills".
