Summit Medical Group is recruiting for a HR Benefits Coordinator. This position assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions, maintains employee database and files, and assists with payroll processing. This is a full time opportunity. **This position is hybrid after orientation is completed, but requires days in-office in Knoxville, TN **
Examples of Duties (List does not include all duties assigned)
- Assists Director of Comp & Benefits in administering various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, and wellness benefits.
- Helps conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system, as needed.
- Set up and administration of monthly benefit enrollment and annual open enrollment sessions in HRIS.
- Maintains employee benefits records and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction, including successfully administering employee life event enrollments per regulatory and plan guidelines.
- Processes payroll adjustments and premium arrears related to benefit deductions, as needed.
- Uploads and monitors vendor EDI file feeds for all health plans, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and COBRA.
- Assists employees with health, dental, life, disability and other related benefit claims.
- Back up for audit of monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies. Assist in resolving administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
- Assists with issues related to contract COBRA administrator.
- Runs census or other data reports as needed related to benefits administration.
- Prepares and sets up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs.
- Assists with developing and preparing communications, to include formatting monthly newsletters, email communications, etc.
- Assists Benefits team in completing benefits reporting requirements.
- Adheres to expectations of the established corporate compliance plan.
- Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each Employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.
- Performs related work as appropriate and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required.
Experience
One to two years of experience in benefits administration or related field. At least one year of experience with Microsoft office. HRIS experience preferred.
