* $250.00 SIGN-ON BONUS *

Hours/Shift: Part Time - Evenings M-F from 5:30p -10:30p

Position Purpose: The Specialist assists in assigned areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff by meeting and maintaining established medical, sterilization, and cleanliness protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • All Staff
    • Perform all duties, as assigned, for which employee is trained or qualified to perform
    • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all applicable safety regulations
    • Dispose of waste, including medical and biohazard waste, according to federal, state, organizational, and departmental guidelines
    • Manage supplies and equipment efficiently and keep cleaning supplies and equipment safely stored when not in use, and away from patients' access when in use
    • Use cleaning chemicals according to and compliance with federal, state, organizational, and departmental policies and guidelines
    • Participate in ongoing process improvement, adapt to changes in the workload, maintain regular attendance
  • Housekeeping
    • Clean and sanitize assigned patient rooms and bathrooms daily
    • Clean, disinfect, and sanitize assigned areas, including moveable and stationary objects, as designated in procedures
    • Reset assigned areas to present an attractive and sanitary environment for all customers (patients, visitors, staff, etc.)
    • Properly maintain the designated supply closet and work cart
    • Keep cleaning supplies and equipment safely stored when not in use, and away from patients' access when in use

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to communicate well with a variety of customers, read and write well enough to respond appropriately during emergencies, and complete mandatory competencies
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and stressors in a positive and productive manner
  • Designated drivers must have a valid driver's license and clean driving history
  • Preference: Previous experience in commercial cleaning services or healthcare settings desired

Work Requirements:

  • Constant amounts of physical effort required, during the whole shift, including:
    • Continual standing, bending, stooping, walking, pulling, and lifting (up to 20 pounds), occasional lifting to 50 pounds, and pulling carts up to 100 pounds
    • Operation of commercial equipment, including routine climbing of safety ladders for high cleaning and changing of cubical curtains, etc
    • Tolerance to regular exposure to hospital laundry and cleaning chemicals and changes in temperature
    • Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, cleaning chemicals, Formaldehyde, and Chemotherapy
    • May require travel to other campuses and medical buildings
