Principal Responsibilities:
Overview: The Housekeeping I is responsible for ensuring a clean and organized environment by performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the entire building is clean and ready to be reopened each morning.
General Responsibilities:
- Care and maintenance of cleaning equipment; i.e. vacuum cleaners and other cleaning machines
- Ensure that all rentals are set up in a timely manner to allow ample time for renters
- Cleaning and upkeep of the JCC and TBI facilities
- Sweeping, mopping, steam cleaning and vacuuming floors
- Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, including toilets, sinks and showers
- Communicate concerns/problems with facility and assistant facility directors
- Occasional extra hours if needed
- Securing all doors and windows
- Restocking all paper products, soaps, and housekeeping supplies throughout the building.
- Reporting any maintenance issues or needed repairs
- Occasional exposure to chemicals, blood pathogens, body fluids
- Using cleaning agents and chemicals according to safety standards
- Interacting with clients or guests in a courteous and professional manner
- Adhere to JCC code of conduct and JCC team manuals
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:

- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility
- Complete assigned tasks within specified timeframes
- Prioritize cleaning duties based on urgency and importance
- Pay close attention to detail in all cleaning tasks
- Keep cleaning supplies and equipment well-organized
- Use cleaning supplies and equipment efficiently
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Notify supervisors in advance of any planned absences
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heave objects up to 30 pounds.
Work Schedule: Part-time, non-exempt - 12pm-8pm Weekend shift only
Salary:
$25,000 - $35,000
