Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor

Reports To: Director of Housekeeping

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping Supervisor’s responsibilities include assigning tasks to the housekeeping staff, identifying and reporting cases of tardiness, and monitoring cleaning supplies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assigning housekeeping tasks to staff and inspecting work to ensure that the prescribed standards of cleanliness are met.

· Providing training to the housekeeping staff.

· Oversee staff daily.

· Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness.

· Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence.

· Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job.

· Investigating and addressing complaints regarding poor housekeeping service.

· Respond to customer complaints and special requests.

· Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach, and rubber gloves.

· Participate in large cleaning projects as required.

· Inform management of any equipment or furniture in need of repair.

· Screening housekeeping applicants and recommending promotions, transfers, and dismissals.

· Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.

· Able to open and close the house when needed.

· Able to cover Room attendant/ houseman callouts if needed.

· Perform any other duties requested by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum 2 years of Experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor in a Hotel or similar role.

· Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

· Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations.

· Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products.

· Knowledge of various cleaning chemicals and supplies.

· Excellent organizational and team management skills.

· Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job.

· Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

EDUCATION:

· High School degree, GED or Equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish (preferred).

REASONING ABILITY:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, associates, and external partners.
• Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
