Job description

PCSI is looking for a Quality Control Manager for our housekeeping contract with the US Customs and Border Patrol Advanced Training Center in Harpers Ferry, WV. The Quality Control Manager inspects housekeeping maintenance performed in guest rooms and other areas of a hotel setting and provides some supervisory oversight to employees completing the work. The Quality Control Manager maintains inspection data in a Quality Management system used to identify trends and root causes of issues and continue to improve processes. This role also partners with PCSI's safety department, training employees and investigating accidents and incidents.
We're looking for someone with supervisory experience in housekeeping with a focus on detailed inspection of work. Typical hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm. The selected candidate must pass a federal clearance after accepting an offer to work at this location.
Benefits Include:

  • Base pay of $60,000-$65,000, depending upon experience.
  • Annual bonus of up to 6%
  • 21 days of PTO per year, in addition to all federal holidays.

  • 401k plan with matching on contributions up to 6%.

What You'll Do as Quality Control Manager:
  • Perform room inspections on Housekeeping and Maintenance performed in guest rooms, bathrooms, and public spaces using software and written procedures as inspections and/or audit standards.
  • Manage and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS), to include a site-specific Quality Control Plan (QCP), Document Control, Quality Contract Template, and Continuous Improvement Log in accordance with ISO 9001 standards and internal compliance audit expectations.
  • Collaborate with and assist PCSI operations in standardizing and implementing operational controls e.g., procedures/work instructions, checklists, training plans, etc.
  • Identify trends through inspection data and perform root cause analysis to create corrective action plans.
  • Obtain/maintain quality data required to support management review efforts at site/corporate levels.
  • Provide onsite employee training and retraining on Safety and Quality related information.
  • Responsible for the site safety program: conduct monthly safety meetings, required safety training, and hazard inspections/assessments.
  • Investigates all employee work related accidents and incidents, including root cause analysis/corrective actions.
  • Responsible for developing, analyzing and monitoring the site environmental program.
  • Conduct environmental site assessments, facility inspections and hazardous waste control in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • While prioritizing the site-specific QCP, provide additional operational and supervisory support, to include shared office duties.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Two years' experience in hospitality services required.
  • Two years' experience managing/supervising employees, including coaching and skill development.
  • Two years' experience in Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience in root cause analysis, data analysis and preventive/corrective action a plus.
  • Experience in facilities housekeeping/facilities maintenance a plus.
  • Experience with safety regulations and standards a plus.
  • Experience with government contracts and/or an environment that includes workers with disabilities a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams required.
  • Experience in conflict resolution.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities.
  • Ability to provide excellent Customer Service to both Government counterparts and lodge guests.
  • Ability to manage and supervise employees as needed, including coaching, skills development, and disciplinary action.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to pass criminal, financial, drug, and driving screening.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Potential exposure to dirt, dust, odors, chemicals, and infectious diseases.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours when needed.
  • Ability to travel by air and vehicle up to 15%.
