Position Overview:
Ensuring quality and clean facilities throughout the hotel, a houseman cleans corridors, strips guestrooms and various other duties. A houseman stocks closets with towels and linens, furnishings and any other supplies a guest may need or request.
Essential Functions:
- Strips linens and trash from vacant rooms.
- Cleans and mops service areas and vending areas in assigned areas.
- Vacuums corridor carpets in assigned areas.
- Delivers linen to housekeeping closets and to guestroom attendants as needed.
- Stocks housekeeping closets with all essential items needed by housekeeping daily.
- Makes out work orders for needed repairs and replacement of items.
- Label and submit all lost and found items to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience required:
A formal education is not required to become a houseman. We will provide on-the-job training. Hotel housemen must be able to work quickly and efficiently without invading the guests' privacy and should have a neat, clean appearance.
Physical Requirements:
Housemen must be able to bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
Must be able to push up to 100 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds.
