Provides a clean and safe work environment for patients, visitors, hospital staff and self. Cleans patient care, public, clinical, and office areas using chemicals and manual/electrical floor care equipment. Adheres to SMHC “Excellence in Action” ideology.
- Operates basic functions of a pager and phone system.
- Room turnover including daily and check-out cleaning.
- Retrieves beds from various areas of hospital and transports them to a room.
- Performs dust mopping, wet mopping of floors, vacuuming carpeted floors, spot cleaning furniture and carpet.
- Proficient operational knowledge of floor care equipment, including but not limited to: 175 rpm buffer, riding and walk behind auto scrubbers, carpet extractors, Taski carpet machines, and 1500 to 2000 rpm high speed buffers.
- Performs assigned furniture moves and conference room setups.
- Performs assigned project work, including but not limited to: wall cleaning, stairwell and elevator cleaning, curtain removal/re-hanging, response to service calls, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned such as but not limited to stripping, scrubbing, waxing, detailing carpet extraction and carpet bonneting.
- Every other weekend and every other holiday work assignments or as needed.
