POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Membership Director the Housekeeping Staff are responsible for maintaining positive relationships with members, program participants and guests by providing clean, sanitary, comfortable, tidy and welcoming facilities and grounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Perform housekeeping duties on a daily schedule with limited supervision, while maintaining a high level of cleanliness both inside and outside of YMCA building.
2. Know and follow the safety guidelines related to working with chemicals and equipment and complying with safety and regulations and codes.
3. Maintain an organized and safe work area related to storage of chemicals, paper products, tools and other housekeeping supplies and proper disposal of all items exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
4. Ensures YMCA building and property are secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2. Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques and methods
3. Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
4. Physical stamina and mobility
PRACTICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean flooring
- Dusting
- Clean bathrooms
- Operating mechanized cleaning equipment
- Report repairs
- Disposal of trash
