Examples of work performed in this classification include, but are not limited to, the following: Reports needed repairs and sees that the repair work is satisfactorily completed. May plan and maintain a supply of all clothing used by inmates, patients, or employees with final responsibility for choice of patterns, stock, etc. Inspects the maintenance of proper health and sanitary conditions. Keeps records of employees' time and work records .May assign institutional cottages and dormitory space to eligible employees and directs cottage decoration, furnishings, and upkeep. Removes trash and debris from assigned areas. Performs housekeeping functions in a section of an institution. Cleans bathrooms, sleeping facilities, and/or kitchen facilities following set standards. Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned. This is work with responsibility for directing the housekeeping functions in a state institution. Incumbents are responsible for the management of housekeeping functions such as cleaning, maintaining linen supply, and for the reporting and follow-up action in connection with repair work and supervising a sewing room, building, and/or storage. Incumbents may be responsible for all housekeeping functions in an institution characterized by several buildings and/or domicile areas or comparable responsibilities in management of housekeeping functions in a major division of a large institution. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Housekeeper in a higher classification or an administrative official.
