We are looking for our next full-time Housekeeper at the University of South Carolina, and you do not need to be a member of Tri Delta to apply! Our lovely chapter house is located in Columbia, South Carolina, and the Housekeeper role is a full-time position eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSA account, employee assistance program (EAP), and more.

This position will begin tentatively in February 2024.
During recruitment, the individual in this position can expect to work early mornings or late nights in order to accommodate required cleaning around the recruitment schedule.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Cleaning
Ensure that the facility is clean, orderly and safe for residents
Steam-clean carpets and use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces with various cleaning agents
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
Dust furniture, straighten and scrub surface clean; Dusting of all common areas
Apply wax to coat floors and buff; apply a sealant to floors
Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants daily
Regular cleaning/vacuuming of the floors and carpets in all common areas including stairs and hallways
Empty all trash daily
Daily cleaning of kitchens; and other duties at the request of the kitchen staff (sinks, counters, floors, etc.)
Pick up of trash in all common areas (not responsible for any resident’s personal items)
Restock paper items, soap and cleaning supplies as needed
Perform a summer deep cleaning of the entire facility after residents have moved out
Administrative/General Responsibilities
Identify and report possible repairs
Report to the house director any action necessary to properly maintain the cleanliness of the facility
Promptly notify the house director of any maintenance problems or unsafe conditions in or around the facility
Work and coordinate with the house director regarding ordering supplies. The housekeeper shall never order any supplies without the express consent and authorization of the house director
Properly care for all supplies
Thoroughly check and store supplies that are delivered to the chapter
Promptly remit any purchase orders for supplies to the house director
Advise when items or supplies need to be replaced and/or repaired
Attend scheduled staff meetings and any requested training sessions
Submit work hours for payroll through an online payroll system
Observe all facility rules, as determined by the chapter and house director
Refrain from the use of alcohol or drugs in or around the chapter facility
Maintain a professional relationship with all chapter members and residents, other employees, and volunteers
Immediately notify the house director of any accidents or injuries while on duty

Required qualifications include:
1 to 3+ years of related experience
Possesses skills to operate a computer including web browsing, email, and Microsoft Office products
Meet specified physical requirements of lifting no more than 40 lbs, standing for long periods of time, and use of hands to handle and control tools
Ability to speak and read English
Ability to use proper discretion and independent judgement in carrying out the primary roles and responsibilities of the position
