Housekeeper Job Description

Position Summary:

The housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. You will work independently and as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety for all areas of the facility.

Essential Functions (Other duties as assigned):

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of all areas of the facility including, but not limited to, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
• Empty trash cans and recycling bins
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors
• Replenish supplies, such as soap and paper towels, as needed
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance, such as changing light bulbs and replacing air filters
• Operate cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers and carpet cleaners
• Notify management of any needed repairs or maintenance beyond your skill level
• Follow all safety procedures and regulations

Education and Required Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior custodial or cleaning experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow directions and procedures
• Physical ability to perform duties, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods

Working Condition:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to noise levels consistent with a shop environment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be required. Additionally, the employee may have to work in non-temperature-controlled environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
