What you’ll do:

We are seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to fill the role of House Parent at our Qualifying House. The House Parent will be responsible for creating a supportive and structured living environment for residents transitioning to independent living. This role involves living on-site, supporting in daily operations, and providing guidance to residents. Flexibility is crucial as the House Parent will be required to fill in for shifts as needed.

Residential Support:

Create a safe and nurturing environment for residents.

      Oversee daily activities, including meals, chores, and recreational activities. 

      Provide transportation for residents, as needed.

      Provide emotional support and mentorship to residents.

      Shift Coverage:

      Fill in for shifts as required, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

      Ensure 24/7 coverage and respond to emergencies promptly.

      Program Implementation:

      Implement and enforce house rules and guidelines.

      Facilitate and participate in group activities, meetings, and workshops.

      Communication:

      Maintain open and effective communication with residents, staff, and management.

      Document significant interactions, incidents, and daily activities.

      Conflict Resolution:

      Address conflicts or issues among residents in a fair and constructive manner.

      Collaborate with support staff to develop conflict resolution strategies.

      Household Management:

      Oversee the general upkeep of the house and report maintenance issues.

      Manage inventory and supplies for daily operations.

      Team Collaboration:

      Collaborate with other members of the team, including: counselors, and program managers, therapists, transition workers, client managers, and any other relevant team members.

      Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

      Role Model:

      Demonstrate positive behavior and act as a role model for residents.

      Encourage and support residents in setting and achieving personal goals.

      To be considered, you should have:

      • Minimum of a high school diploma; bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is a plus.
      • Previous experience working in a residential setting, especially with individuals in transition.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to manage crises calmly and effectively.
      • Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and cover shifts as needed.
      • Understanding and commitment to the principles of confidentiality and ethical conduct.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
