The House Attendant is primarily responsible for maintaining clean and attractive guest rooms hallways and public areas in the hotel cleaning furnishings and carpets, replenishing supplies, stocking housekeepers carts. Assists the Housekeepers with stripping of room linen and trash in rooms as well as around the property. Responding to guest's requests, flexible to multi-task. The House Attendant in this role will be assigned to manage the Laundry Chute responsibilities include emptying linen chutes, stack linen carts and bringing the dirty linen carts to ship for service and bring the clean linen carts to stack the linen closets. Since the hotel never closes, the House Attendant should be willing to work different shifts based on business needs and have physical stamina and strength to work continuously throughout the shift (walking, pushing, pulling wheeled carts weighing up to 100lbs), should be able to lift heavy items and have a professional appearance. The House Attendant should have a thorough knowledge of commercial cleaning operations and be able to undertake work as assigned.
ResponsibilitiesThe following are specific contributions that must be developed during the training program in order to successful complete the program and be placed in a hotel with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Cleans guest hallways. This includes, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping doors & number plates, mopping, cleaning windows.
- Supports room attendants by picking up linen and garbage. (And disposing as directed).
- Delivers items to rooms based upon guest requests.
- Restocks supplies in the linen closets.
- Perform all stages of linen processing (counting, sorting and weighing soiled and unsoiled linen, loading, and unloading carts/car for linen pick up, storing linen, and stocking/delivering all linen to linen closets) as needed.
- Clean linen closets.
- Pick up guest laundry, log, to send out for services, deliver when ready.
- Hangs shower curtains and drapes/sheers in the guest rooms.
- Pleasantly interacts with all guests.
- Moves furniture when requested by manager.
- Reports any safety concerns to manager.
- Assist co-workers as requested by manager.
- Provide customer service to guests, including information about hotel services, activities, and local attractions.
Experience
Skills and Knowledge
- Previous housekeeping experience preffered.
- Hotel experience preffered.
- High School diploma prefered.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision while meetng high performance standards.
- Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces.
- Must be willing to "pitch-in" and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
