Hourly - Brand Ambassador (Bilingual)

Career Opportunity:
The city of Las Vegas Office of Communications invites applications for Marketing Ambassador. The Office of Communicaitons is looking for qualified candidates seeking to work in a fun-filled environment as ambassadors for the city of Las Vegas. This is an hourly entry-level, part-time position. Scheduled hours for this position are limited to 19 hours or less per week (Shift will vary based on the needs of the programs and facility). Hourly employees are also limited to 1,560 hours of work in any 18 month period.
Supervision Received
Receives general supervision from higher-level classified, supervisory or management staff.
The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list for current and/or future openings which may include part-time positions.
SELECTION PROCESS:
The selection process will include a review of all applications with only the most qualified participating in an interview. Final candidate selection will include hiring interview (if applicable). Any individual offered employment will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and complete background check. Some positions may require preliminary background checks.
NOTE: Eligible applicants will be contacted via phone or e-mail only if moving forward to the interview process. If you are not contacted, your application will remain active for a period of four (4) months. Essential Functions:

• Work closely with city's Marketing team to building brand awareness about the city of Las Vegas including its classes, programs and services by distributing branded giveaways, collateral pieces, etc. during various community event and other designated city locations.
• Creates positive customer experiences by actively engaging with the public during events, including answering the public's questions about the city of Las Vegas and its program and services.
• Provide event-related information after events to Marketing staff, including number of citizens reached, questions asked, and the distribution of printed materials at events.
• Participate in social media activities, such as taking videos or photos, to support social media teams.
• Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, and wear city brand wear.
• Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Must be familiar with city of Las Vegas government
• Must be capable of being on your feet for 4-6 hours at a time
• Must have a smartphone to use for text, email, photographs, and frequent communication / check in with manager
• Each position works up to 19 hours per week on a set schedule that may include evenings, Saturday and Sunday hours
• Required to speak both Spanish and English bilingual
