The Position: We’re looking for an Director of Sales & Marketing for our hotel. This opportunity combines working for this suburban business with the benefit of working for a smaller management company with all its support and assistance to managing the hotel. The pay range we’re offering is competitive and commensurate with experience.

The Responsibilities: As part of the property leadership team, the Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for driving sales and revenue to the property. They will report directly to the General Manager and be responsible to achieve the budgeted goals of the property but do so with the highest amount of integrity and sound leadership.

The Requirements: Minimum of two years’ experience as a Director of Sales or Sales Manager preferred, along with the strong ability to:

  • Solicit, negotiate, and book both new and repeat business
  • Actively sell room nights through outside sales calls, telemarketing, site tours, etc.
  • Creative and strategic skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize when necessary,
  • Financial analysis skills. Ties strategies and planned actions and results.
  • Strong statistical analysis and business case development
  • Communication skills including group presentations, written and oral.
  • Team management skills include participation, engaging in difficult issues, and effectively influencing non-direct reports.
  • Strong understanding and expertise in the Sales & Marketing process.
  • Ensure that all administrative procedures are in place and functioning effectively.
  • Ensure that all required reports are completed on a timely basis.
  • Meet or exceed budgeted REVPAR for the hotel
  • Prepare hotel's annual marketing and sales plan based on the hotel's position and strengths within each market segment
  • Forecasts occupancy fluctuations based on changing market conditions and directs selling activities to maximize revenue
  • Ensure that team members (specifically front desk staff) are familiar with key accounts and "specifics" relating to business booked in the hotel.
  • You are action-oriented and have strong negotiating skills.
  • You have prior leadership skills directing the efforts of others to achieve budgeted expectations.
  • You have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Responsible for growing existing accounts and generating new business.
  • Direct the implementation and execution of Sales policies and practices.
  • Ensure communications are coordinated, supports sales plan objectives, and meet organizational expenditure requirements in conjunction with marketing.
  • Recommend sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analysis.
  • Implement approved distribution strategies and manage multiple channel selling strategies.
