Job Summary
The Villa Graziadio is a full-service conference facility specializing in training and seminars, providing the perfect environment for success. The Villa is located on Pepperdine University's Malibu campus nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains. With over 45,000 square feet of dedicated meeting space, the Executive Center provides state-of-the-art audio visual, exceptional food service, and an environment conducive to learning. The Villa's 32 boutique style guestrooms are well-appointed for comfort, which makes the Villa an ideal atmosphere to stay for any event.
Responsible for directing the overall operations for all client managed services of the hotel & CONFERENCE CENTER. Ensure timely reporting of operating results is achieved through the integrity of the property management system. Provide leadership while guaranteeing financial, guest and staff satisfaction goals are achieved using sound business practices. GM will report to the Regional Director of Operations/VP of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all CONFERENCE CENTER & hotel operations, to include food services, CONFERENCE CENTER & hotel services, audiovisual services, etc.
Effectively communicate with all levels of client management
Promote and inspire an atmosphere of teamwork
Take initiative and demonstrate proper judgment as it relates to assigning tasks, delegating responsibility, resolving problems, and addressing personnel issues
Keep abreast of industry trends and share information with all staff
Prepare financial statements within corporate time frames and according to Policies and Procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Uniform System of Accounts
Analyze and interpret financial results to assist and advise client and corporate team
Ensure that all Accounts Receivables and Payables are managed efficiently and timely
Ensure compliance with Management Agreement
Maintain effective system and control procedures
Accurately prepare all financial reports, budgets, forecasts and other information required and submit within the specified time limits, identifying variances and making recommendations for improvements as appropriate
Direct the control of costs and expenses in all areas
Utilize guest feedback to improve performance and customer experience
Monitor and manage performance management process
Meet or exceed the objective of clients’ goals of associates experience and sustainability
Conduct ongoing audits of existing processes and makes recommendations as needed based on identified risks while holding team accountable as needed
Communicate clearly with all staff and keep them informed of matters which pertain to their jobs; host ongoing direct report team meetings to review upcoming business. Attend departmental meetings periodically.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of five years of managerial experience, in a CONFERENCE CENTER & hotel environment
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and juggle many tasks simultaneously
Superior quantitative, oral, and written communications and problem-solving/strategizing skills
Excellent overall computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Proactive mindset to anticipate and support changes in our business
Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
Exceptional customer service abilities
