Hot Line Cook

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Hot Line Cook to join our team at a busy restaurant. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our food offerings. If you have a passion for cooking and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Monitor food levels and replenish supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
- Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen area

Skills:
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
- Proficient in meal preparation techniques and knife skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and special dietary needs is a plus
- Culinary training or certification is preferred, but not required

I. Job Description (Includes, but is not limited to):

· Preparing food according to restaurant recipes and/or guests’ request(s).

· Ability to identify and assess the needs of the kitchen and being able to step up to assist in multiple stations with food prep, cooking and plating (e.g. broiler, sauté, fryer, garde manger, etc.) on an as needed basis. We need a Hot Line Cook that specializes is hot food prep.

· Maintaining the highest level of food presentation and quality.

· Ensuring sanitation procedures and organization of work area(s) and adhering to all OSHA regulations, federal and state laws, and internal policies to ensure work area is organized, cleaned, and sanitized properly.

· Maintain food and supply inventory and notify management of restocking requirements.

· Attend and participate in daily briefings or pre-shifts.

· Other duties as assigned.

II. Requirements:

· At least 18 years of age.

· Ability to effectively communicate in English.

· Abide by state laws regarding Food Safety, Alcoholic Beverage Control Laws from the State Liquor Laws Authority, OSHA regulations, in addition to company rules and regulations established in the employee handbook.

· Minimum one year of experience cooking within a full-service restaurant.

III. Required:

· Culinary Arts degree or Minimum 2 years of previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant, resort, or club setting.

IV. Preferred:

· Working knowledge of various cooking methods and cuisines.

· Ability to translate recipes into dishes.

· Compatible knife skills.

· Ability to work flexible varying scheduling needs of the Club and may be required to work additional hours than scheduled, if necessary. (varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays is a must)

· Polished appearance and demeanor. You should be neat and arrive well-groomed and on time and dressed in the appropriate uniform.

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.

V. Pay: $20-$22/hour depending on experience.

This is position depending on your skill level demonstrated during the duration of your initial seasonal employment may be extended an offer to stay afterwards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee must have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform strenuous work lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping and climbing. There are occasional usages ladders when required. This position has the potential to expose the employee to human blood pathogens or infectious materials. The role may call for constant repositioning of themselves. The ability to observe, identify and detect certain items within close vision, distance vision and the ability to assess depth perception.

The role demands the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. As a front of house staff, the employee must be able to make reasonable cognitive judgement through their ability to detect informational exchange with the membership or identify points where extra attention to detail in their work is necessary.

WORK CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and extreme heat (non-weather). The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate. This is a fully onsite role requiring both indoor and outdoor functionality.
