A host or hostess is responsible for greeting guests and seating them promptly and courteously. They also manage reservations, maintain the seating chart, and occasionally take orders.
A host or hostess should be detail-oriented and able to multitask. They should also be able to keep track of reservations and seating arrangements.
Some additional responsibilities of a host or hostess include:
- Providing accurate wait times and monitoring waiting lists
- Escorting customers to assigned dining or bar areas
- Greeting customers upon their departure
- Coordinating with wait staff about available seating options
- Handling phone calls and customer questions about the restaurant and menu
- Assisting various restaurant staff as needed
A host or hostess should have a good knowledge of the menu and specials, and be able to guide customers to the establishment.
A to-go specialist is responsible for
- Answering phones
- Taking and placing orders
- Making modifications to items
- Knowing the menu and being able to answer questions
- Expedite and pack the food correctly
- Accept payments both credit cards and cash.

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
