Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a personable and attentive individual to join our team as a Hostess/Host. The Hostess/Host serves as the initial point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their dining experience from the moment they step through our doors. This pivotal role demands a genuine passion for hospitality, impeccable communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extend a warm welcome to guests upon their arrival, creating a friendly and inviting ambiance. Engaging and thanking guests as they leave as well.
  • Effectively manage guest flow by orchestrating seating arrangements and optimizing table rotation to ensure efficient service.
  • Guide guests to their designated tables, engaging in courteous conversation and accommodating seating preferences when applicable.
  • Handle incoming phone calls and assist with reservations, furnishing accurate details regarding availability and dining options.
  • Handling reservations via phone or in person and inputting them into our tablet via Yelp Reservations.
  • Forge close collaboration with our esteemed waitstaff and management team to facilitate seamless operations and address any guest concerns or special requests promptly.
  • Uphold meticulous cleanliness and organization standards at the hostess station, including proficient management of the reservation tablet and meticulous tracking of guest preferences.
  • Helping wait staff clean and set up tables to ensure a smooth transition for the next incoming parties.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred, although not obligatory. We warmly welcome individuals with a positive attitude and a keen eagerness to learn.
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, enabling courteous and effective interaction with guests and team members alike.
  • Demonstrated organizational prowess and acute attention to detail, ensuring precision in managing reservations and seating arrangements.
  • A composed and collected demeanor under pressure, maintaining professionalism amidst the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to accommodate full day & half day shifts, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by the dynamic nature of the restaurant industry.

Preferred Requirement: Spanish Speaking, Team Player

  • Greet Guests Warmly: Always greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor as they enter the restaurant.
  • Be Professional: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, including appropriate attire and grooming standards.
  • Be Prompt and Courteous: Attend to guests promptly and courteously, providing assistance and addressing any inquiries or concerns they may have.
  • Seat Guests Efficiently: Manage the seating chart effectively to optimize table rotation and minimize wait times for guests.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain clear communication with the waitstaff and management team to coordinate seating arrangements and address any special requests or issues from guests.
  • Handle Reservations Professionally: Answer phone calls professionally and assist guests with making reservations, providing accurate information about availability and dining options.
  • Maintain Waiting Area: Keep the hostess station and waiting area clean, organized, and welcoming for guests.
  • Be Knowledgeable: Stay informed about menu items, specials, promotions, and restaurant policies to provide accurate information to guests.
  • Handle Guest Concerns: Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and courteously, seeking assistance from management if needed to resolve issues satisfactorily.
  • Follow Health and Safety Protocols: Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including sanitation protocols, to ensure the well-being of guests and staff.
  • Be Proactive: Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive assistance to enhance their dining experience.
  • Work as a Team: Collaborate with other team members to create a positive and cohesive work environment, supporting one another to deliver exceptional service to guests.
  • Stay Calm Under Pressure: Remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, such as during busy periods or when handling difficult guests.
  • Follow Restaurant Policies: Adhere to all restaurant policies and procedures, including those related to reservations, seating, and guest interactions.
  • Seek Feedback: Solicit feedback from guests and colleagues to identify areas for improvement and continuously strive to enhance the guest experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Shift:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift

Weekly day range:

  • Every weekend
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

  • Restaurant Experience: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Hosting: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Customer Service: 2 years (Preferred)

Shift availability:

  • Day Shift (Preferred)
  • Night Shift (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
