Host - Grappa

DESCRIPTION:

A Host, or Greeter, is responsible for warmly welcoming customers to our restaurant and ensuring that they are seated and receive attentive service. Duties include maintaining a waitlist of patrons during busy meal service, passing out menus, handling online ordering to-go’s and accepting phone calls. Other requirements include good communication skills, teamwork, cleanliness, and ability to stand and walk for extended periods (10+ hours). Pay rate will be determined by previous experience, skill level, and attitude.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Greeting customers as they walk into the restaurant

· Helping guests with reservations and guiding them to their table

· Giving guests accurate wait time estimates and seating them in the waiting area

· Providing customers with menus and answering any initial questions they may have

· Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure even workload for wait staff

· Answering phones and scheduling reservations with large parties

· Have great customer service and positive attitude to team and guests

· Must present a professional attitude and appearance

· Acknowledge guest opportunities and offer options

· Maintain an open line of communication with Managers

· Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner

· Regular attendance and on-time to all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job

· Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Possess skills that allow you to warmly interact with guests and help keep restaurant operations running smoothly.

· Prior customer service experience in the hospitality industry- preferred, not required

· Positive attitude and interpersonal skills

· Good communication skills and phone etiquette

· Flexibility when working alternating shifts

· Ability to stand for long periods of time
