The physician is responsible for practicing medicine in a hospital setting. Examines patients, diagnoses diseases, determines treatments, and prescribes medication. Provides diagnostics, therapies, and preventative healthcare services as well as obtain medical histories including allergies, social, past, and surgical. The physician will order x-rays, labs, medications, and other appropriate treatments. They should provide appropriate education to patients, families, facility staff, and advanced practice providers, taking in consideration the patient's preference and engaging the patient and family in self-management of their condition. The physician will be responsible for mentoring and teaching their advanced practice providers with which they collaborate and be available for questions outside the APP's scope. The physician will be expected to maintain an appropriate demeanor with patients, families, hospital staff, and colleagues. As well as maintaining a Pennsylvania license in good standing.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a related field.
- Hold an active license of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
- Experience in long term care, geriatrics, or hospital setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic medical records.
- Connect patient family to resources/outside programs.
