AMARILLO HEART INSTITUTE is excited to announce we are currently hiring a Hosptial Nurse for one of our brand new clinic in Amarillo, TX. This position is a key care position. This position will provide health care services to patients and visitors in a well-organized, caring, and familiar environment.
The primary responsibility of the hospital nursing staff is to the hospitalized patients of the Amarillo Heart Institute and any activities pertaining to these patients, which may include, but are not limited to the following: Daily hospital rounds, Hospital consults, ER admissions and consults, medical records and dictations and supporting the Amarillo Heart Institute physicians and fellow hospital nursing staff whenever necessary to accomplish the day's work. The Secondary responsibilities may encompass patient care in and outside the hospital settings. These activities may include, but are not limited to the following: Assisting physicians in the office with routine patient visits, assisting physicians with hospital procedures (angiograms/coronary and peripheral interventions), and assisting physicians with office procedures (vein ablations/coronary and peripheral angiograms/peripheral interventions) This position does require some weekend call and some holidays.
What we are looking for:
- 1+ years of experience in healthcare or nursing preferred
- Current licensure (RN, BSN) required
- Ability to work on an independent basis, accepting no supervision, and providing own personal care, following patient instructions and procedures related to the job.
- Commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to multi-task and pay attention to details
- Team player with a positive attitude and passion for helping others
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ability to communicate with patients and other staff members, and understanding of basic medical equipment used in the workplace
