Department Overview:
Pay Range: $16.41 - $21.87 per hour Function/Duties of Position:
Occupational Health is a section of Human Resources Division dedicated to the promotion and protection of the health, safety, and well-being of OHSU employees, visitors, and volunteers. The department provides services and programs to address and prevent workplace hazards, as well as, providing resources to promote total worker health. The Hospital Aide is a vital member of the team assisting in operational needs and services throughout the department.
Pay Range: $16.41 - $21.87 per hour
Clinical Support
- Responsible for coordinating and maintaining the COVID-19 workforce test site operations:
- Patient Registration.
- Collection and labeling of self-collected saliva PCR tests (or staff administered nasopharyngeal PCR, when applicable).
- Education on illness exclusion and return to work policies.
- Submission of specimens to processing lab.
- Monitoring and communicating results where necessary.
- Assist in clinic services, primarily respirator fit, color vision testing, and other duties as trained.
- Accurate documentation of all testing procedures in EMR system.
- Adheres to infection prevention measures.
- Assists in conducting standard precautions education and training.
Administrative Support
- Responds to/triages emails, phone calls, and in person queries.
- Daily data entry and maintenance of EMR system.
- Assists in clinic operations such as ordering and organizing supplies, restocking and maintaining workstations.
- Project and logistical support.
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED
- Current BLS
- Reads, writes, and speaks fluent English
- Must be able to effectively utilize oral and written communication with staff, customers, and stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks
- Ability to learn and use electronic record systems and devices
- Ability to develop standard operating procedures and follow proper protocol
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation(s)
- Basic understanding of OHSU University Hospital and clinic policies and procedures or EMR experience
- Computer and Microsoft office experience
