Hospice Travel Nurse (Rn)- Austin, Tx

Overview:

Hospice RN needed in Austin area. Half of the duties will be performed on site the other half in patients homes. Prior hospice experience preferred. Hourly pay- mileage reimbursement- renewal bonus's available. High potential to go full time if interested.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct initial assessments of patients' conditions and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications, including injections, as prescribed by the physician
- Monitor patients' vital signs and provide necessary interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, symptom control, and end-of-life care options
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families
- Coordinate with other healthcare providers to arrange for necessary medical equipment and supplies
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely

Requirements:

- Valid nursing license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of experience in acute care or hospice palliative medicine
- Proficient in administering medications, including injections
- Strong knowledge of symptom management and pain control techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients and their families during difficult times
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems

Preferred Skills:

- Experience working in an ambulatory surgery center or occupational health setting
- Knowledge of medical imaging procedures and interpretation
- Understanding of laboratory tests and results analysis
- Ability to ventilate and aliment patients as needed

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
