Job Summary
Dignity Hospice is seeking an experienced Hospice CNA to cover communities in the area of Boulder/Broomfield Area. CNAs will perform various services for patients as necessary to meet the patient’s personal needs, promote the patient’s comfort, and a safe environment. Observe patients and report/document these observations and the services provided. Travel to residences and patient communities as necessary.
Requirements:
- Minimum age requirement of 18
- Completion of recognized Nurse Assistant certification program
- Minimum of one year of direct patient care experience in an institutional or home care setting required. Hospice experience preferred.
- Reliable Transportation & Valid Drivers License
Job Duties:
- Assists patients with personal hygiene by giving bed baths, grooming, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.
- Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Linen changes and light housekeeping
- Report on the patient’s condition and significant changes to the RN Case Manager and CNA Coordinator.
- Follows all established Dignity Hospice policies and procedures.
- Protects the organization's value by keeping patient information confidential.
- Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
- Participate in and attend team meetings, staff meetings department meetings, briefings, in-services, education, and other related activities as needed. Contribute positively to patient care planning.
Compensation: Basic Pay is DOE - Saturday and Sunday pay $4 an hour differential, mileage reimbursement, Dignity Cell Phone Provided. Dignity Hospice pays 90% of the full-time employee's premium towards the base health insurance plan (United Healthcare), dental, and vision; gym membership, 401(k) match and 3 weeks of paid time off are available with tenure.
