Job description

Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries is one of the premier employers in Pennsylvania and Maryland. General Responsibilities: Responsible for performing program support which includes on-site nursery maintenance and development, plant work, irrigation support#and some light carpentry work.# Provides supervision to and has responsibility for youth participating in activities.

Assists with retail sales at customer service at The WIlderness Greenhouse.# Childline # DHS FBI clearance results are required prior to beginning employment. Grant position (temporary) thru#June 2024 Education/Training: A BS or BA degree in psychology, social work, environmental science, horticulture or related field of study is normally required. Knowledge of or experience working with native plants preferred.

# Experience: A minimum of three (3) years related experience working with plants, greenhouses, landscaping, or in other agriculture environments normally required. Some experience with native plants either through professional field experience or education is preferred. # ADA: Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.
