Job description

Large equine tourism and border facility looking for a Operations and Trail Ride Coordinator. Facility is responsible for the full-care of around 20 borders and offering around 100 tourism rides per day to the general public.

Duties and Responsibilities: Our company is dedicated to offering the highest quality trail riding experience to its guests while providing both entertaining and safe service both to the client as well to the maximum best health of its horses. The Trail Ride Coordinator must be well versed with equine experience as they must perform a wide range of horse care, coordination of Trail Ride scheduling and operations as well as supervise barn duties. The candidate must have strong leadership skills as they will be responsible for reporting directly to the Operations Manager. Strong character and ethics is a must. The applicant must have strong customer service skills and have the ability to multi task with a large range of duties. The applicant must do well under pressure with time constraints and strong performance measures. Lastly, it is imperative that the applicant have a positive disposition and a strong ability to overcome challenges in business.

Staff Management: This position requires the applicant to manage the wrangling staff in conjunction with or in lieu of the Operations Manager's Presence. Daily assigning of riding and non-riding duties, such as facilities maintenance, tack cleaning and repair, and herd care (grooming, foot care, washing, etc.). The Trail Ride Coordinator must be able to coach staff for improvement according to company policy and standards as well as implement disciplinary action as well as termination where needed.

Guest Management: Applicant must be able to handle any guest concerns in a professional and courteous manner. The safety of all guests must be the manager's top priority and will operate rides to ensure as such. The Trail Ride Coordinator will support the Operations Manager to ensure staff are trained sufficiently to provide safe ride services to guests and any concerns of safety will be immediately addressed through the manager. Guest satisfaction and maintaining positive company brand identity will be priority through daily operations.

Cost Management: Applicant must support the Operations Manager to manage payroll and overtime costs. It is important that the applicant also supervise hay, grain and miscellaneous operational expenditure.

Business Relationships: The Trail Ride Coordinator must have the ability to support strong business relationships with the local community and its officers. Specifically, the applicant must engage in daily communication with the Garden of the Gods Park Rangers to ensure our operation is meeting the standards as a courteous citizen within the community.

Direct reporting will be to the Operations Manager. The applicant must be comfortable communicating daily status reports to ownership and Operations Manager, keeping the leadership team advised of all needs or concerns with operations. All personnel issues and incidents of safety, injury or accidents during operation must also be reported to ownership

Other Requirements: Applicant must be able to lift at least 50 lbs consistently as this is a highly physical position with exposure to all types of weather. This is not an office position, the applicant must enjoy working outside. The candidate must also have a valid driver's license, must be able to pass a drug and criminal background check. Our business is a strict drug-free operation , including the use of Marijuana. This position requires strong commitment as needs of the horses and staff arrive at all times and the Trail Ride Coordinator's schedule will often require weekend commitment. Please note: pay is negotiable based off of skills and experience.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
