Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Home Visitation Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of high quality, comprehensive supportive services to children and families. This position supervises a team who provide comprehensive Home Visitation services based on Early Head Start requirements and national best-practice models. These services include but are not limited to: education, mental health, health and safety, and family engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Promote and contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures, beliefs, abilities, and experiences.
  • Demonstrate capacity for providing developmentally sensitive, hope centered, trauma informed, relationship focused and evidence-based/evidence-informed practices and supports.
  • Plan, develop and administer the Home Visitation program, ensuring an integrated, holistic service delivery system for children and families.
  • Facilitate professional development, training, and skill building activities for assigned staff.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, discuss issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff, parents/caregivers and community members on a variety of pertinent topics in the area of childhood development, family engagement, Head Start Performance Standards and community partnerships.
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring, tracking, follow-up and analysis of child development, family engagement and community services.
  • Oversee implementation of the Parent, Family, Community Engagement (PFCE) and Early Learning Framework (ELOF) frameworks to ensure systematic processes and procedures are in place to provide high quality Home Visitation services.
  • Provide regular reflective supervision for Home Visitation staff.
  • Ensure coordination among staff, parents/caregivers, program management and community consultants and providers to enhance services to children and families
  • Observe home visits and socializations for the purpose of home visitor professional development and continuous quality improvement.
  • Coordinate with program management coordinators to assure the integration of service delivery in alignment with the Early Childhood Services, ECS Integrated Service Plan to support compliance with Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Responsible for all aspects of managing the Home Visitation program, including interviews, selection, ongoing professional development, performance evaluations, implementation of a Home Visitation annual calendar and ongoing monitoring and guidance of service delivery.
  • Travel locally as required in the performance of responsibilities.
  • Perform other appropriate and related responsibilities as assigned by Senior Program Director or Executive Team member.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education/Development, Social Work, Family Development or related field of service
Master's degree in Early Childhood Education/Development, Social Work, Family Development or related field of service
Certification
OK-AIMH Infant Mental Health Endorsement
Experience
Effective experience as a leader and working directly with at-risk families
Home visitation experience

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently communicate with staff and others, and must be able to exchange accurate information when doing so. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, attend meetings, etc. Must be able to operate and use a computer. Must be able to detect, discern, distinguish, observe, inspect and compare. Occasionally must be able to move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
The employee will work in office, school and home environments. May work in close quarters with staff members, parents, infants, and toddlers. The Home Visitation Coordinator will conduct home visits in the community with families involved in services. The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet, moderate to loud, depending upon work environment. Work environment cannot be predicated when entering a family's home. Employee must expect exposure to strong odors such as soiled diapers and clothes, and poor hygiene. May come into contact with childhood diseases and blood on occasion.
