Jesdit Infusion is a fast-growing company that is seeking highly skilled and compassionate nurses throughout the New Jersey area. The primary role of a Home Infusion nurse is to provide clinical care, education, and excellent customer service to patients in their private residence and ambulatory infusions sites, where available. All infusion therapies, medications and medical supplies are provided by pharmacies and authorized by the patient’s doctor. As an in-Home Infusion nurse, not only will you be treating the patient, you will also have to work collaboratively with pharmacies and doctors to provide the highest quality care for your patients. This position does require traveling to patient homes, and an ideal candidate will be able to travel at least 40-45 minutes from their home to visit their patients for the duration of their treatment and be comfortable in diverse home settings.
Requirements:
- Current, unrestricted RN license for the state of New Jersey
- BLS/ACLS certification
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Clean background check
- In-depth knowledge of HIPPA policies and procedures
- Personal Liability Insurance
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Must have excellent IV skills (CRNI preferred)
- Competent at PICC line maintenance, port access/de-access Midline and PIV placement
- Minimum of 2 years of infusion experience. An ideal candidate will have experience with IVIG, SCIG, TPN, Remicade, Gammunex, Gammaguard, Entyvio and antibiotics such as Vancomycin Daptomycin etc.
- Bachelors degree in Nursing is preferred
- In-depth understanding of regulatory compliance with state and federal regulators
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all patients and their families in a compassionate and professional manner
- Pediatric care competency highly preferred but not required
Duties
Job duties vary by patient, medication, and doctor orders. All patients, unless specified otherwise, are to be seen on a weekly or monthly basis. While not an exhaustive list, duties include:
- Picc line dressing changes
- Port accessing/de-accessing.
- Lab draws,
- Patient assessment and teaching
- Troubleshoot equipment issues with patient (ad hoc basis)
- Milrinone hookups and bag changes
- Chemo disconnects (home setting or hospital setting)
- Infusing medication such as IVIG, SCIG, antibiotics, Remicade, Stelara, Solumedrol, Entyvio, Orencia, IV hydration and TPN
- Starting a PIV line and drawing blood for lab work and for infusions
- Deliver blood specimens to Labcorp or another lab facility (ad hoc basis)
- Fill out and submit all paperwork in a timely manner per company policy.
Schedule
Due to the nature of this position, the ability to work weekdays, weekends, days and nights are required. Must have a flexible schedule to devote at least 1 day a week to taking care of a minimum of 3 weekly cases.
Pay Rate
Regular Visit: Flat rate of $80.00 (includes initial assessment, medication education, medication administration, weekly bloodwork, weekly picc line dressing changes, port access/de-access, and chemo disconnect.
Hourly Rate: $50.00 an hour.
