Job Description
Home Health ICD 10 coding and Oasis Specialist is a professional responsible for analyzing data integrity and consistency of OASIS documentation and assessment processes reviews. This position will ensure appropriate ICD-10 coding and sequencing and will work with clinical staff to clarify documentation and data integrity issues. Reviews all OASIS assessments to ensure appropriateness, completeness, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
Work from home in Texas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for reviewing Home Health patient charts and processing of the OASIS assessments (SOC, ROC, Recerts, Follow Ups) for accuracy and completion.
- Education with clinical staff regarding Oasis accuracy
- Follow up with clinical staff regarding discrepancies in patient Oasis and coordination to achieve accuracy.
- Completion of ICD-10 coding of all Oasis assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- One (1) year QA experience within the last five (5) years.
- OASIS certified (COS-D1) required within the last 5 years.
- Diagnosis coding experience/certification
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Working knowledge of CMS Condition of Participation in Home Health Services
- Able to effectively communicate with clinical and non-clinical staff, providers, and outside organizations.
- Working knowledge of federal and state Home Health licensure regulations
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, compliance, and reimbursement guidelines
- Sound computer skill and adaptability to Home Health documentation software
