POSITION:Home Clubhouse Personnel/Bat Person
DEPARTMENT: Baseball Operations
REPORTS TO: Director, Team Travel and Clubhouse Operations
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
ROLE
The Home Clubhouse Personnel/Bat Person will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the Home Clubhouse. This role will be responsible for providing assistance and support to the Cub's players, coaches, and staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and maintain Home Clubhouse (cleaning and general housekeeping duties). Guard contents of clubhouse
  • Retrieve bats and balls in the field of play
  • Assist in preparation of the player's bench and bench area for each home game, as well as breakdown of bench and bench area post-game
  • Assist the clubhouse with pre-game preparations and post-game clean up
  • Unload team's equipment and organize for team travel
  • Attend to player needs and team equipment needs
  • Show a high level of character and integrity on and off the field
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed and as directed by management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm in stressful scenarios
  • Ability to work on a team in a fast-paced, entertainment venue
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform the following physical tasks: bend, squat, kneel, twist, climb flights of stairs, walk on uneven ground, walk/run up and down ramps, walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis and lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. This position is designated as an "essential employee" and may be required to stay beyond regular work hours and/or report in from off-duty to assist with minimum staffing coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or GED
