Our compassionate Home Care team currently has opportunities available for Variable Part Time CNAs or Resident Care Assistants.
Schedule: Varies Day/Evening - 4,6 or 8 hours Shifts
Provides direct patient care to a variety of residents in a manner that maintains each resident's dignity, privacy, and confidentiality. Respects the rights and individuality of all residents. Communicates with residents, co-workers, supervisors and visitors with courtesy and respect. Follows facility safety and infection preventions and control procedures, Follows the care plan/service when providing cares.
Qualifications Include:
Must be at least 18 years old
High School Diploma or GED required
Ability to lift up to 35lbs
1 year minimum experience preferred
Experience with dementia care/training is preferred
Ability to provide satisfactory work references
CPR certificate,1st Aid card, Food Handler's card
Must be available for varied schedules, weekends and holidays
Great interpersonal skills & customer service skills
Ability to read, write, understand, carry out directions, and maintain medical records.
Must be able to work with minimal direct supervision, accepting personal responsibility for maintaining a professional relationship with agency's client and family
Specific Responsibilities:
Reads and follows the care plan/service plan of each assigned resident before providing care. Organizes and prioritizes workload so all duties are completed in a timely manner.
Utilizes mechanical lifts to assist with transfers when directed by the care plan/service plan, the person in charge or when the resident's condition dictates.
Assists residents maintain their nutritional intake by serving meals, providing encouragement and by assisting residents to eat meals.
Communicates with residents using a resident-centered active listening approach. Provides verbal explanations before providing care. Accepts that behaviors are a form of communication and does not take it personally.
Reports changes in a resident's health, cognition, or behavior to the person in charge immediately.
SAFETY HAZARDS:
Possible exposure to blood, body fluids and contagious diseases. Exposure to slippery floor surfaces. Considerable bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting
EQUIPMENT USED:
Computer, wheelchairs, walkers, gait belt, power wheelchairs or scooters, sphygmomanometer, electronic thermometer. (Health Center: Electric beds, hydraulic lift, side entry tub, steam table, sanitizing dishwasher.)
