Lab Technician
2 temporary positions with contract of 6 weeks.
Schedule: Fully onsite
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position supports test engineers to provide performance assessment of new models based on external reviewer’s protocols. This role requires supporting different categories, including cooking, laundry and refrigerator freezer products.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist test engineers to conduct competitive performance testing to industry protocols and other test procedures for major appliance products
• Support different categories as needed
• Testing lab experience
• Help set up tests and collect data
• Proficient in MS Office tools Performance Standards
(How will duties be measured)
• Numbers of units tested per month
• External reviewer overall ranking
• Number of recommendations to product quality / product improvements
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Associate in Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 1-2 years related consumer testing experience preferred
• Machine and test equipment setup/hookup, data collection, load preparation, test conditions, etc.
• Ability to spot potential problems in the tests, machine setup, and test conditions, etc.
• Carrying of heavy loads, bending and stooping, exposure to hot water, heat, and food products
• Ability to hear and see various aspects of machine performance and monitoring and equipment states
• Alertness to recognize unusual and unexpected happenings
• Flexible workday schedule, depending on tests being run; Starting times and ending times will vary at times
• Flexibility: Assignments may change several times a day depending on workload and tests being run
• Ability to pay attention to detail
