We are seeking a Hiring Manager who will work under the direction of the Statewide Field Director and be part of the Senior Management Team that will oversee infrastructure to support 300+ staff in the 2024 election. This position will take ownership over the following buckets of work:
- • Establishing a high-functioning efficient hiring and onboarding process for all regional offices in coordination with the operations team.
- • Creating clear support processes for field offices covering hiring and ensuring all managers have appropriate onboarding materials, and there is an easy and clear system for all designated staff to have access to Black Fork Strategies document system.
- • Assisting with hiring, onboarding, and personnel management for the company.
- Working with other operations members to capture any necessary information for compliance. • Managing reporting processes out on short- and long-term projects to organizational leadership and key external stakeholders.
- • Working as a member of the operations team and serving as a direct point of contact for field office managers.
Required Skills and Abilities:
The Hiring Manager will be a member of the Senior Field Team. Must be able to manage high-level inter- and intra-departmental projects—including acting as a point of contact for the field team to external departments as needed.
Strong project management skills and the ability to hold teams accountable for adhering to company processes, standards and systems.
The candidate should have experience in campaigns or in the progressive movement. Must also have demonstrated professionalism and tact in communications with a diversity of individuals. Strong organizational and time management skills, acute
attention to detail and ability to work well with others on the campaign team is a must. This position must be based in Columbus, Cleveland, or Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Field Administrative Manager has:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in campaign or progressive organizing.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, VAN, MiniVAN, Google Docs, and Google Chrome/Firefox.
- Experience with Project Management Software Asana/Monday/etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
- Good judgment, with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
Position Duties:
- • Oversee hiring processes for all levels of staff. Oversees proper completion of HR paperwork by the Office Managers.
- Managing office managers’ needs to facilitate a rapid onboarding process and updating systems as needed to accommodate offices’ staffing needs. • Facilitating the onboarding and offboarding of all employees.
- • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Position Details The Hiring Manager is a full-time, temporary position through December 2024. Benefits include health/dental insurance. Prior to starting the position, the Field Administrative Manager must reside in Columbus, Cleveland, or Cincinnati Ohio, possess a cell phone, a driver’s license, and have access to a reliable insured automobile. Extensive in-state travel is required. Weekend and evening hours will be required. Work-related expenses are reimbursed according to policy. Physical requirements include frequent standing, the ability to sit in meetings, and lift moderate weight for supplies. The ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and complete projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
Salary This position offers a highly competitive salary, based on experience. Salary Range for this position will be $65,000-$72,000.
