Job Title:
HIM EHR Deficiency Analyst - Health Information Mngt
Job Summary:
The Health Information Management (HIM) Electronic Health Record (EHR) deficiency analysis analyst performs deficiency analysis related to the EHR system. This position will assign deficiencies and will serve as a liaison between HIM and clinicians in support of optimizing the EHR workflow associated with deficiency assignment and in basket management. The analyst will work transcription errors as well as the "missing documentation" work queues.
Education & Experience
Associates Degree and two 2 years of experience in a hospital or medical clinic office setting requiring strong attention to detail or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of medical records content and management. Knowledge of medical terminology. Must have a good working knowledge of the EHR either through experience or education, including experience working with structured data and database management. Must possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Must possess excellent typing, computer, customer service, analytical and problem solving skills.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for working transcription errors in the QA hold in Docqroute, transcription rejected folder in epic, and message routing folder in epic.
  • Responsible for working the OP note, D/C summary, and H&P verification reports
  • responsible for working work queues preventing coding performs all deficiency analysis activities. monitor incomplete and delinquent records. communicates with clinicians that are approaching deadlines for documentation.
  • be a resource for clinicians who need training and support with inbasket functions
  • distribute inaccuracies in the electronic patient database to the HIM EHR supervisor and other departments as needed.
  • correct and assist in the resolution of integration issues with DIS or electronic Health Information viewers.
  • process e-message from physicians using the e-signature system in order to resolve problems with reports or other questions.
  • generate routine reports as to status of interfaces, e-signatures, and turnaround times as expected.
  • Be a resource for physicians and those who need training and support with him electronic documentation issues.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly data analysis reports to HIM EHR supervisor as required.
